The standard, filled in

The RACGP published the 6th edition on 26 August 2026: five standards, 92 criteria, three of them aspirational. Every section below is a live checklist section in ClinicComply, with the requirement text, the guidance, the evidence an assessor accepts and the templates that answer it.

New: A standard with no 5th edition equivalent.

Point of care testing

PoCT1 to PoCT8 · optional

PoCT is the optional standard for practices that run point of care tests, and it is assessed separately. Its eight sections are in the product, and the items are added when a practice that runs PoCT asks for them.

The checklist holds the 92 criteria in 35 sections, plus two practice essentials the standard does not name: 94 items in all. Section names and counts are as they stood in the product on 11 October 2026 and may change as the standard and the checklist are updated.

The move is built in, and the 5th edition stays as a read-only record

On the 5th edition? Move across when you choose.

Most practices are still assessed against the 5th edition, so ClinicComply runs both. Work on the 5th for as long as you need. When you are ready, the move builds your 6th edition checklist from it. Statuses, notes, assignees, due dates and evidence come across, and items whose criterion changed are marked for review. Your 5th edition checklist is kept read-only, with its score history and its place in the evidence pack.

  • Items carry over unchanged where the requirement is the same.
  • Where the wording changed, the item is marked Needs review and held at In progress until you confirm it.
  • New requirements start as Not started.
  • Files stay in the Evidence Library; the move links the new items to them.

Assessments. Accreditation assessments use the 5th edition until the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care sets arrangements for the 6th edition. If your next assessment comes first, you may prefer to move after it.

It cannot be undone. Once moved, this practice works to the 6th edition. The 5th edition checklist stays readable but can no longer be changed.

Templates written for the new criteria

Nine policies and packs are built from the 6th edition's new and expanded criteria, and each is mapped to the section it answers. Every template says plainly which edition is assessed today.

The 6th edition, answered

Does ClinicComply support the RACGP 6th edition?

Yes. The 6th edition has been a framework in the product since 7 October 2026: 94 checklist items across the standard's sections, each with the requirement text, guidance on meeting it and the evidence an assessor accepts. A new practice chooses its edition at signup, and a practice on the 5th moves when it is ready.

We are still on the 5th edition. Can we use ClinicComply?

Yes. Both editions are in the product. A practice chooses its edition at signup, and the 5th is preselected while assessments use it. Stay on the 5th for as long as you need to; when you move, your work comes across.

Is the 6th edition assessed yet?

Accreditation assessments use the 5th edition until the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care sets arrangements for the 6th edition. Until then the 5th edition is preselected at signup, the 6th is offered beside it, and a moved practice's evidence pack can still include the archived 5th edition.

What happens to our 5th edition work when we move?

It comes across. Statuses, notes, assignees, due dates and linked documents move to the matching 6th edition items; where the criterion changed, the item is marked Needs review until you confirm it. Requirements new in the 6th edition start as Not started. The 5th edition checklist is kept, read-only, with its score history.

Can a practice go back to the 5th edition after moving?

Not from the app: a practice cannot undo the move itself, which is why the app previews everything first and asks for the practice's name before the move runs. The archived 5th edition stays readable and exportable. If your assessor needs the 5th edition after a move, contact us through Help and support.

What does it cost?

Solo is $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, for one practice. Group is $189 a month, or $151 a month billed annually. Prices are in AUD and you can cancel anytime. The 30-day trial needs no card and includes both editions.

Ready for the 6th edition, from the first day of the trial

Set up on the edition your assessor uses, or on the 6th if you have already adopted it, and move across when you choose. The trial runs for thirty days and needs no card.
